The brief
Bristol Energy supply gas and electricity across Bristol and the South West, as well as nationally for both domestic and business customers. Their mantra of being a ‘force for social good’ means that they reinvest their profits back into local Bristol communities and charities.
The client had a need, in the first instance, for two infographics. One to communicate a review of their 2018/2019 year as a business and the second, to set out their 2019/2020 strategy for the business going forwards.
Their second need was to visualise and communicate internally, to staff, Bristol Energy brand vision and values. This was to be done on a special launch day and be a surprise to employees.
Infographics
Infographics were both designed to an A4 landscape format, for ease of printing and sharing, as well as display in presentations. Colours and fonts had to follow existing Bristol Energy brand guidelines to remain on-brand.
Internal brand values
Once the infographics had been designed and approved, graphics and iconography were designed to communicate the company vision and brand values – in a similar style. A longer version (below) gave more explanation of each value and would be shared in print to staff. Another version, minus the detailed explanation, was created to be used as large wall graphics in the Bristol Energy office.
Concepts were also produced for stickers and pin badges to give to employees on the launch day. In the end, large stickers were produced, but not the pin badges at this point.
The result
For the vision and values launch day, a gatefold format desk drop leaflet was produced which combined the strategy infographic with the vision and values iconography.
A flurry of activity the evening before the launch day saw wall graphics (below) printed and applied to three different areas of the office – ready to surprise Bristol Energy staff the next morning. Big thanks go to N3 Display Graphics for pulling this out of the bag at such short notice!
